I already researched this when I had my XFX 9600GSO. It seems that only a select number of Galaxy 9600GSOs could be turned into the 8800GTS. I checked my XFX one when I got it and it only had the normal amount of ram chips.

yup, think it was only the galaxy ying version. good luck trying to find it. It's much easier and probably just as cost-effective to get a 8800gts or 9800gtx.
These aren't the days of the x800gto^2 (and gecube x800gto =x850), x1800gto (=x1900) or 7900gto (=7900gtx).

They stopped making 96SP GSO. This was like 6 months ago and none to be found in US.
