Hi
I have a MSI 6330 Lite M/board, 1.2 Athlon cpu, 300 w powersupply, 2 harddrives (20 + 60 GB) 2 CD rom drives, 512 mb SD 133 RAM.
I replaced the GF2 GTS 32 mb videocard with a GF4 Ti4200 AGP 8X 128 DDR RAM card, now when trying to play games such as GrandPrix 4 and GrandPrix Legends, the PC Alert III utility sound an alarm and dumps back to desktop.
The error message log reads: "Vio voltage abnormal 3.079".
there is no problem with Flightsims such as FS 2002,or at any other time.
The videocard utility reports no problem, and it seems to be working ok.
I have made no alterations other than exchange the old card for the new one, installed new drivers from the CD included with the card, after having unistalled the old drivers.
Is there a issue with the mainboards SD 133 RAM and the new cards DDR RAM maybe?

Hoping for some helpful advice

That's a strange problem. Some wild speculation here:

Maybe your power supply can't handle the load when the vid card shifts into high gear?

Does you mb support 8x? If not, I assume the vid card runs at whatever speed is available (2x or 4x).

Not weird. Power supply overstressed by the GF4 powermonger when 3D rendering is being used full throttle, that's all.

Thanks for the response,

power supply sounds logical, better upgrade, off to the puter market again.

thanks again
