mobo upgrading problem

I'm sure there are those of you on this forum that has had this problem... so I can use all the help I can get. I tried finding the answers at computer stores but they can't answer a tech question to save their lives.

I'm currently trying to upgrade my computer but I ran into a big problem. I have a Intel 2.40c P4 (800 FSB) chip and I found mobos out there that support the chip but I have a PNY Verto GeForce4 TI4400 that uses a 3.3v AGP port that I wish to keep. My problem is that I can't find boards that support both. The boards I found only have a AGP port voltage of around 1.8v which does me no good.

Can anybody recommend one or several board(s) that I'll be able to use with DDR Ram or PC100 DIMMs?

Most, if not all, of the newer mobos are going to have the newer agp slot. Good luck, tho.

Sorry to hear that you have 3.3v vid card. That spec is almost gone. You will (most likely) be unable to find a new mobo with support for it. Time for a new vid card. If you have the jimmy, get the new ATI 9800XT.

Are you sure it can't use 1.5V. It's been a long time since anything but cards with legacy chips were not at least 4x compliant. It's a Geforce4 you say, which should be at least 4x compliant, which should allow 1.5v signaling.

Take a look at the keys on the card at this link and see.

thanx for that site.

my card has both the 1.5v and the 3.3v keys as well as the registration tab. on the box, "AGP 2.0 or higher expansion port" and "AGP 4X/2X". the agp port on my current mobo has the 3.3v key.
