has anyone ever removed the onboard audio port from a mobo b4? i was thinking about soddering off the audio port. will it still boot? if i soddered off the port and terminated the ends with sodder will it work?

I wouldnt .... do that ....

But ... seems to me ... that if you remove the port without crossing leads with solder ...

Or zapping any chips .... or burning the components ..... It should work ....

but .... WHY ??? .... just put tape over the case hole where the port protrudes....

absolutely no reason to do that, if ur not gonna use it just disable it via jumper/bios. no need to void warranty by trying to de-solder it. why do u want to take it out anyway?
