I'm wondering where I'm running into an issue here.

I can Prime stable for 20+ hrs at 270x9 . . I can game for hours . .

But I bump FSB up only 3 MHz and it crashes/freezes after an hour of prime . .

I have my memory underclocked < 200mhz at default timings 2/3/2/5, so I'm guessing that should rule out memory?

I have my HTT divider set to < 1000 (prob close to 800 atm), so I'm guessing that isn't an issue.

I have 1.6v on the chipset (1.5v is default) . . I have + .025v on the CPU (to get it to show correct 'load' voltage of 1.408) . .

Is it simply the CPU not liking the extra ~20 MHz?? (2433 @ 270, 2457 @ 273) . .

Load temps after ~55 minutes at this setting was 49c max.

It seems I'm at a wall here at this clock . . I have tried an 8.5 multiplier and a higher FSB and it has issues even at 2400 MHz, thus making me believe its the motherboard not liking the higher FSB??? Where have others seen theres fall off?? I thought it'd be fine to at least 300Mhz??

You'll probably have to give it more voltage to go higher. To me that's more likely than your mobo limiting your overclock. Increasing the voltage is part of overclocking and you're never going to be able to reach the chips 'full overclock potential' if you don't. An overclock of 600MHz aint bad.

yeah, i guess i knew that..since i have gotten it to post at 1.55v @ 2.7ghz . .

that makes more sense then. :p

i'll get some more cooling and see what else i can get out of it then.

thx for the reply.

edit: just for an idea, what kinda voltage do you have to hit yours with to get 2.9g?
