Hello all,

I recently purchased this foxxconn mobo:

Specs of mobo:

Manual of mobo:

I also plan on purchasing the powercolor x800xl GPU. Which I know does not have a power connector on it.

Id appreciate any help in answering these qs.

1) The mobo has a power connector on the top left hand corner of the board. Can anyone confirm if this is a power connector to supply extra power to the x800xl? The manual says its a Auxiliary PEX power connector. Im not sure what that means.

2) A dual 12V power box will supply power for the CPU and video card via the 24 pin connector. In the manual; page 21, the power connector on the top left hand corner of the board also seems to require 12V. Im confused about this... so i have to buy a quad 12v power box?? or that power connector is for a 5V input supply? If yes, whats that 12V there for? To confuse people? 😀

3) my system, 3200+ venice (dunno if the mobo supports this, so im gambling 🙂 ), x800xl, 1 SATA HDD, 2 PATA HDD, 1 DVD+-RW, 1 CDROM, 1 Floppy Drive, 1 GB RAM.

any recos for a power supply that would be good for the above?

I have this choice till now:

XClio 450 should power anything (<$60. shipped from newegg). - go to XClio.com to see the full complement of connectors and accys that thing has. Great value! That extra connector that looks like a drive power connector is for aux power for PCI Express that might need it. You do not need to connect it unless you have one of those hot video cards that need it. You DO need to connect the ATX and the P4-12V (4-pin square).
