Mobo, CPU, Video Card upgrade

Well since i'm 99% sure my video card is toast its time to upgrade. I was planning an upgrade to an AMD setup in a few weeks. I was going to go with the MSI K8N NEO2 PLATINUM motherboard with a AMD 64 3200+ but now that i'm going to need to get a new video card i'm looking at PCI-E. I'm looking at getting the X800 XL from Best Buy. Now for $250 I can get it in APG, or for $280 I can get it in PCI-E. If I got with PCI-E I was looking at the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum motherboard. Chances are I won't be doing any overclocking with this setup, maybe with the CPU, but I won't be touching the video card. I've learned my lesson and I don't have the cash to keeping burning out stuff. Any input on this setup would be appreciated. My current setup is.

Enermax 460 watt PSU
1gb RAM 512 generic 512 crucial
2 200gb HDD's

1. if you are not going to OC i suggest a gigabyte board..best bang for your buck
2. buy your vid card PCI-e from newegg...cheaper than what you suggested...
3. you should proably definately go PCi-e..APG is not just on its way out...with the new gen cards it already out the back door

Can you sugguest a good gigabyte board? I'm not saying I won't OC the processor, but its always nice to have that option.

The cheapest newegg has the X800 XL is $290. Best Buy has them onsale for $280, with tax it will come to a little more than that but atleast i'll have it that day. Plus I have a best buy credit card and can make payments.

Good, bad ugly? The reviews seem good. Only thing I don't like is that it only has 3 PCI slots

If that is the nf4ultra one, then yes its good for a budget board. you need to get over pci, though, there just gonna become less and less. the dfi board only hase 2 pci. should be enough for most people, i use neither of them but if you do, one for soundblaster and one wireless.

you can get the 800xl for 260 at Cusa since i think you want to get it b&m.

Thanks alot, there was alot of good links and information in there. Now I have a few more options to consider.

EPoX EP-9NPA+Ultra

ABIT AN8

I like the Epox because it has the nfUltra chipset but the Abit supports dual channel memory. The reviews favor the Epox for overclocking incase I decide to give that a try again. Anyone have any suggestions or should I just stick with the MSI K8N Neo4?
