Mobo + CPU combination

Hello all

I'd appreciate it if someone could answer:

If the AMD X2 4400 is compatible with the MSI K8N Neo 2 Platinum? Any experiences with this combination?

And also would a Zalman cmps 7700 Cu be enough to keep it cool?

Thanks

OK I wanted to go with an Nforce 2 type chipset because they've been out for a while and are reliable.

Thanks anyways

Yea, you can use it. You need to get BIOS 1.A or 1.B, but it works fine. BTW, it's an NF3 chipset.

But...........If you're just buying now, get an NF4 board. That chipset has been around a while and is given much better support by the MB makers than NF3 boards. Only real difference between the two is that NF3 is AGP, while NF4 is PCI-e. If you must have an AGP board, look into the ASRock AGP/PCI-e combo board.
