Mobo BIOS flash?

I currently am using the discontinued SOYO KT600 DRAGON Plus v1.0 with my 2500 Barton system(Yes I know it's old).

I have been noticing high cpu temperatures, and I read somewhere that flashing the BIOS would probably give better temperature results.

Anyway, should I start searching for a BIOS update for this old mobo, would it help anything else?

Well, I found this site

CPU-Z says the BIOS is Phoenix Technologies, LTD version 6.00 PG Date 11/03/2003

I don't know much about this, I am guessing the Phoenix is the "software" BIOS, where as the update I am looking for is probably a "hardware" BIOS?

Anyway, all replies are appreciated.

Did you give your PC a clean inside the case?.... can of compressed air does wonders to get all that dust out, also case fans help keep temps down too.
