Anyone know if the mobile 2500+ works in a Asus A7N8X-Deluxe?

I want a real overclock and my current 2500+ chip ain't cutting it.

wish I knew the answer to that. I am currently trying to get one to work in that motherboard, and I do believe others have, but I haven't been able to yet, I don't know wha tI am doing wrong. Recognizes when I first put in, but it does recognize when I change the MHz from 600 (100x6) to anything with a multi different from 6x. It hurts not to have a computer.

yup it'll work :D
GotIssues update you bios hopefully thats the only issue. my chip when I reset my bios boots at 600mhz just like yours but its fully unlocked so you can choos ANY multi, I've done multi's up to 15 on my chip so far

kinda having the same prob. However mine starts up at 1000mhz (6x166). MB has only FSB settings to 200mhz, no multiplier or voltage changes. Running pc2700@166.
I use two programs to change the multiplier and cpu fsb from windows, however I have run into a little snag. When I change to a 12x (2000mhz) the power will shut off after awhile although the cpu temp stays at 40c. I assume 200mhz is the default speed for a 2500+?
Has anyone used the progs CPUMSR and CPUFSB? kinda new to the "from OS" bios changes.

up the volatage on it. Default is 133x2=266 on the Barton 2500+. Try changing the settings from BIOS, maybe the switch from "Athlon Barton Mobile" to "Unknown CPU" is what is causing the problem (maybe, just a shot in the dark).

Hmmm I think I might pick one of these up...
I currently have a 1800+ TBred A running at 1800Mhz (9x200) on a Asus Rev1.xx

You dont have to do any hardware mods with these chips eh?
Just plug it and adjust the BIOS to whatever VCore, Multiplier & FSB this thing can handle?

Will my 1800+ Retail Heatsink/Fan be good enough?

think i got this thing pegged now. I downloaded a new program CrystalCPUID that also allows multi + volt changes. You can set different config shortcuts on the desktop, so different speeds are a doubleclick away! woohoo!

1.66, 2.0 , 2.16, and 2.33ghz. I'll try some higher configs later on.

So what kind of MB does one need to support the mobile athlon? Does it need to support any voltages in particular? It apparently doesn't need correct processor identification.

so far as I have learned, all the VIA chipsets and some Nforce2. I have a KT400 on a Shuttle AK39N and it correctly identifies the cpu with the lastest bios. After the bridge changes, it say unidentified cpu but still works (better than before the mods).
