Mobile XP / WCPUID / NF7-S Question

I just got a mobile XP 2600+ and currently have it running at 2.4 GHz on an Abit NF7-S 2.0 to burn it in for a few days. A buddy of mine has a similar setup except with an Epox 8RDA+. He sent me a screen shot of WCPUID v3.3 and in the Name String block WCPUID reports "AMD K7 Processor". When I run WCPUID the Name String is "Unknown CPU type". Is this a motherboard thing? If so, is this why in the Abit bios it is unable to recognize the processor? At boot up the bios just says "Unknown CPU running at 2400". I would appreciate a response for anybody else running a mobile XP on a NF7 to confirm this is normal. Thanks.

Mine hasn't come in yet, but I ordered basically the same setup. How you like it so far?

From what I've read that is completely normal. I'm sure myocardia or somebody can confirm this.

So far I love it. I have it at 1.6v and it's rock solid at 2.4 GHz. I plan on running here through the weekend then going to 2.5 and then hopefully 2.6 if I'm lucky. My buddy has his running at 223x11.5 = 2565. I thought that was great for his older Epox 8RDA+.

Mobile xp's were not intended for desktop use, so the mobo may not recognize the CPU nam. No big deal really, doesn't affect performance in any way. Maybe try to flash to a new bios?
