Mobile dial-up - ping times

What ping times are you getting on cellular dial-up?

I currently get about 1400 ms, using a 9.6 kbps standard GSM ISDN v1.1 connection - interestingly I get a similar time when using an analogue connection. Using a Nokia 8310 with USB IrDA adapter.

What difference does HSCSD make? - e.g. are times significantly better with 14.4 kbps or 28.8 kbps (not that I intend to use 28.8k - too expensive).

What about GPRS?
