Just wondering what the difference is between the T2400 and T5600 platform.

The T2400 is a 1.83GHz, 2MB CoreDuo w/Virtualization Technology

The T5600 is a 1.83GHz, 2MB Core2Duo w/Virtualization Technology

The T5600 is faster, and has a longer battery life.

Also the T5600 supports 64-bit whereas the T2400 does not.

If you are notebook shopping, and your budget affords it get at least a T7200 (2.0Ghz Dual Core with 4MB L2), that should be the way to do it.
