Mobile Athlons (non-OC related...kind of..)

This may be in the wrong forum but it's kind of not related to OC'ing yet still is but at the same time the opposite? OMG are you still with me? lol

Ok basically I'm looking at purchasing a Mobile Athlon but for a lil different reason than most...I was considering a 2600+ or 2500+ and was wondering what kind of temps these put out at their lower voltages? I'm running a desktop 2500+ right now, and it runs 38C idle with a Zalman at full speed :disgust: in an Antec Sonata.

I basically want to run a very quiet system with as little heat as possible. Was thinking the lower voltage tolerance of the mobiles would result in lower heat output at stock speed. I swapped the PSU in the Sonata for a TT 420 Purepower so right now the rear 120mm fan is chugging away at 12v and like 40 dBA lol. I'm also assuming that the massive suction at the rear of the case is screwing with the amount of air the Zalman can blow over the CPU since they're right next to each other. My end goal would probably be to run 2 120mm fans (was pondering ordering a few of the old style OEM Panaflo's) and running them both at ~5-7 volts to keep them quiet (anybody testify as to if the addition of a fan in the HD cage in the Sonata is beneficial?) while also being able to tone down the Zalman a bit. Then there's always the NF7 NB fan...guess I could go passive with it seeing as in I won't be OC'ing anymore...

I guess that leads me to another question...can an NF7-S run the lower voltage? Like 1.45v?

at a default vcore of 1.45v you would probably lower your temps by i would say 5 degrees or more. i don't have experience with the NF7-S board but i don't see why it would not be able to run a vcore at 1.45v if it has all the overclocking options.
