Who here likes some spicy korean kim chee? I just got a huge tub from a korean supermarket and I'm sitting here snacking on it. Spicy goodness!!

Too bad there's no good places to get it once I go back to college 🙁

I think it was ruined for me by a co-worker years ago. Until the boss told him to stop, he'd bring it in for his lunch when he was working the night shift, and the whole store would smell like it for the entire next day.
Plus I don't like cabbage.

Plus it doesn't leave your breath or at least a day. Apparently, it's really good for you.

Yayay looks like everyone likes kim chee. I was only wondering, because my gf seems to hate it. I too am asian, but not korean. But i love kim chi!!

I've never liked cabbage, but the first time I had kimchi, it blew me away. I prefer to eat the leafy parts vs. the stem/stalk. It's even better when you have it with Korean BBQ.

Speaking of which, I had Korean BBQ for the first time when I went to New Zealand a few years ago. I went to these hole-in-the-wall restaurants on Queen St. in Auckland. You picked your choice of beef, chicken or pork then they bring you 4 or 5 other side dishes. All of this cost around $4 US! That was some good eatin'. If you guys know of such places near the Bay Area, please do tell. 🙂

it's fermented cabbage!

the older, the better!

some people prefer it super fresh ... but me... i like it as old as possible... sooooo good as kim chee chigae
