Nice pic. I'm getting 404 on the second one though :( I want to see more Westy pics!

But why maximize the Windows when you have so much desktop real state? Think of the possibilities! :p

Fixed. I'll try to take some better pics tonight. I have HL2 installed and will have Battlefield 2 as well....

I had the 32W6 for a while, but I only used it for its HDTV capabilities because when I hooked up my PC via the VGA input I wasn't impressed with the quality at all. If the 37W3 is much better in this regard then I'd really consider buying it vs. the 24/27/30" LCDs that I've been looking at simply because the price/size factor is so much better than with a PC monitor.

I use the Viewsonic 3752, which is currently priced at CAD$949 in Costco.
3 HDMI inputs and lots of functions, makes for a nice HTPC and display for my upconverting DVD player.

This monitor has crystal clear text. Perfect 1:1 mapping on both DVI inputs. Listen for under $1000 there is no better monitor PERIOD. If you are seriously considering getting a Dell 30" or a 27" then get this monitor instead.

As far as video performance, as long as you feed it a 1080P signal you won't notice much ghosting (definitely on par with LCD's today). Black levels are better than average, but for an LCD it isn't saying much. On the whole, the image is very pleasing and when viewing High-Def content it will knock your socks off.

Not really, most are too expensive to consider.

Plus so many people love the W3 and have tested it out in many scenarios, you can't really go wrong.

I was worried, but after getting it I am convinced.......

So text isn't grainy in Windows when running the native res?

And does this display do 1:1 pixel mapping or does it stretch lower resolutions to fill the screen? Thanks for your help! :)

Forgive the lousy pics....but you can see how clear the text is....it's flawless in person.

Thanks for the pics, but PLEASE tell me the banding in the first one is simply caused by the camera! :Q

I have no banding at all, but it's been hit or miss with this monitor. I think they've got the banding issues sorted out now, but I could be wrong. Make sure you get the firmware 1.0 (they go backwards in terms of firmware 1.18 is older than 1.0). Make sure your desk is large enough to accommodate the monitor. The Ikea Jerker is an absolutely perfect fit for this monitor, I have one as well in the Oak color (had to remove the top shelf, but you could fit it in on the highest notch).

I have to see this in person, as I'm skeptical of how 1920x1080 37inch text can look as sharp/clear as 1920x1200 on a 24inch. The pixel size should be much much larger in the 37inch display. But you guys seem to be happy so I'll have to try to track down this model. I wasn't impressed with the 42in Westinghouse as a desktop pc monitor (pixels way too big), it was good for gaming if you were 5-6 feet away though.

Yes it's the camera......not the screen.

Going by opinion and pictures in this thread I'd much rather keep my Westy than pick up that Viewsonic non-1080p piece of junk!

You are rude and stupid, especially considering that I have several posts in that very thread... I hadn't noticed the Westinghouse is a 1080p, which would give it an advantage over the Viewsonic. But in terms of picture quality, you have no idea what you're talking about... you might want to read some more...

Well they say the Viewsonic has a good picture quality, but there is no direct comparison to the Westy. Quality is soo subjective, especially if you haven't seen both products in person to make a sound judgment.

Well, he isn't stupid, I can vouch for that, but perhaps it wasn't the nicest thing to crap on your monitor - that I agree with. But, for what it is worth, I think your monitor is great :)

Here are some pictures of my setup. Excuse the lack of clarity, my camera is not very good.

I've been comparing pros and cons of this Westinghouse 37" and Dell 30", still can't decide which one's better for me. I'd like to pick either one when my tax return arrives.

I think everyone's desk setup is absolutely beautiful. But the pics of actual screen show every single pixel very visibly? (as if they're textures in game.) I dunno.. I'd love to play games on this 37" but I always wanted to have the 2560x1600 screen ever since they were $3K.. It's terrible that Dell equips that beauty with ONE input source. Sigh.. Decisions, decisions..
