Do you wash it with soap? If you shit on your hand, I don't think running water on it for 20 seconds is going to get it all out... Just saying... That's all I was ever taught to do.

I tend to simply live better in life not over-analyzing "what ifs" for everyday tasks. In general it just seems healthier :\

It isn't even the feces. It's the fact that they sit in open and dirty cardboard boxes, getting shipped around on dirty trucks, go through dirty warehouses/distribution center and then finally make it to the store.

A peroxide wash works to neutralize most pesticide residue and bacteria. Just search on 'peroxide fruit' to get some suggestions. I use about a quarter cup of 5% peroxide in about a quart of water to clean 6oz of blackberries. Let them soak for about 20 minutes and rinse 2 or 3 times.
