I used to live in Thailand, and they would have signs that said you couldn't eat durian around this location due to the smell.

Also, sometimes next to the trees they would have warning signs, because durians fall and kill people every year... those things are lethal!

Jackfruit is a different fruit altogether. It doesn't have the foul odour of durian, but it looks similar.

I have alot of asian friends and most of them love durian. I can't stand the smell, but its pretty good once you pinch you nose and put it in you mouth.
