Don't you think that mashed potatos and peas TOGETHER taste MUCH better than mashed potatoes OR peas????

YUMMY! I love it! With extra butter and black pepper!

You guys don't like peas!?!?!?

I've found, after years of cooking for my wife, that some people are traumatized to DISLIKE certain foods (usually vegetables) because when they were kids, their parents OVERCOOKED EVERYTHING.

My wife used to think that EVERYTHING green was soggy, until she learned that I tend to stir fry, steam or boil for only a short period of time and this makes all of the difference in the world. :)

I may be a victim of that, because I hate any vegetables unless they're steamed or raw or cooked very little. But peas are just...ugh. Mushy. Mealy. Everything food isn't supposed to taste like. :disgust:

Peas are good when cooked just right. Never tried 'em with potatos, but I'll put it on my to-do list, right near "find a mac user and beat over head with baseball bat repeatedly".

Viper22: you might want to see if there's any veggies you can tolerate. They're loaded with vitamins and minerals that keep you healthy not to mention fiber (yes laugh but it's important to keep a happy digestive system).

just my 2 cents. ....

peas mixed with mashed potatoes...as long as they're canned sweet peas.

I usually mix a crapload of sour cream with my mashed potatoes...and because of this, people think i'm crazy.

potato, a little onion, salt, pepper to taste... =) and a little bit of jalapeno... NOT THE SEEDS, it overwhelms the taste of the potato

jonny, here's a wish for whirled peas just for you =P

do you mean real peas or them little green balls fostered on Yanks by the federal guvment ?

peas, cornbread & mashed potatoes, with a side of hamhocks... goood !

Nothing comes close to a young manatee, slow roasted on a spit over hickory coals....

I hate peas as well, but I would say my GF makes the best mashed potatoes in the world! She puts all kinds of odd things in em, like dill, and cream cheese as well as others, and they are hella yummy. She even leaves em a little lumpy, just the way I like em.

Mashed potatoes and peas huh? Must try!!

I think I'll opt for a baked potatoe with mashed peas on top for my first go at it though. Give me the mushy, salty canned peas any day...Mmm Mmm! :)
