Just ordered a Sager with a WUXGA 15.4 in. screen. I looked at a Sony at Best Buy with this kind of display. Wow. They sure are purdy..... on all the other ones you can easily see the lines between each pixel but this has like crazy resolution; the Sony was 17 inch widescreen at 1920x1200 rez! Now, what I don't get is.... the 15.4 inchers have the same resolution??? Do they just have even higher DPI or what??

Oh, also, how come regular desktop LCDs never look this good?

WUXGA is 1920x1200. The pixels will be smaller on the 15.4".

Desktop LCDs don't have as high of a resolution in the size screen, I've heard because you're usually closer to a laptop screen than to a desktop screen, so laptops would 'benefit' more from having ultra high rez displays... We have 17" LCDs at work, and lots of people still change the rez to 1024 or 800x600 even because the native 1280x1024 is 'too small'. It would kind of suck for gaming to 'have' to run your game in the highest rez for it to not be affected by decreased image quality due to LCD scaling.
