I had poutine yesterday for lunch.

Different than a traditional poutine, instead of gravy it's a tomato sauce. Those are chunks of popcorn chicken. Mmmmm.

Is poontang a term limited to lower socioeconomic classes? For example, if you go down on Hillary Clinton, does it still qualify as poontang or does it become buffet mignon?

The poutine around here is so damn inconsistent. We have La Belle Patate which does it well, and one or two others, but now that everyone and their dog is making poutine, you end up with a lot of crap around the city calling itself poutine that is really just some sort of weird knockoff concoction not even using real curds or gravy. :colbert:

Best poutine is always from the street vendors in their little trucks and, even better, from the old-fashioned cabanes à patates.

Haha yep. I like to call those "dirty buses".

Yeah, they're probably on the health unit's site as having violations, yes, there are flies all over inside and out of those things, but damn it's the best poutine ever.

I like summer for that since those start to come out. I think there's a few out already.

One thing I have not had in a while is beaver tails, I'm not even sure if they still have those buses around. Maybe down south. I know we had some here at one point. A beaver tail and poutine, with a timmy's, it does not get more Canadian than that.

There's one just around the block here, owned by a Vietnamese couple. Came back from the winter hiatus a few weeks ago to take its alloted spot. Been seeing it for at least a decade and that's where I get my occasional poutine as I pass by it on the way back when I buy groceries.

I've lived a few blocks (2 blocks since 2001) from the original Beaver Tails in Ottawa but I haven't had one yet. Supposedly multe delicioso. Heck, I tasted twinkies for the first time a few days ago (not impressed, dunno why they're so famous). And I don't remember going into a Tim Horton's even though there's one a block from where I live.
