Im switching out the 8gb ssd on my mini 9 and want to know which is better. MLC appears to be faster at reads (much faster) but slower at writes. SLC on the other hand has better writes but slower reads. Im leaning towards the MLC since after I reformat and install programs, i will not be writing anything else on the disk. I know that MLC drives last less but when it eventually craps out, Ill be buying a new lap.

My question is, would the write speed of the SLC drive make a more noticeable difference in windows or should I go for the MLC?

Edit: Im getting one of these ssd's

The current MLC drives have horribly bad write latencies due to poor controller design, except for the upcoming Intel model. I would do an SLC drive or not bother and just get a conventional hard drive.

My choices are between a 16gb SLC SSD that according to mydigitaldiscount, has a read/write speed of 43/26 and a 32gb MLC SSD that has a readwrite speed of 70/17. which would you guys get? Space isn't a problem its just that these 2 are the cheapest ones
