bought an xbox 360 controller today in anticipation of this game's release! 😀

Now I have a reason to use mine. Bought mine several years ago and I never use it.

I preordered mine through Take2Store.com. I probably won't get the game on Tuesday because I didn't pay for next day shipping, but I should have it before the weekend.

According to the 2KGames forum, the pc demo will be released at 11:55 pm pt. On Monday, March 2nd.

I haven't found an official date, but it is supposed to be pre-release, so that would make sense.

I'm hoping this is made available directly over steam a la NBA 2K9... Would be a lot easier to get a hold of.

rather disappointing reviews from people who received early copies and played demos from what i've read.

they have a patch coming out around release date however.

Unless I'm mistaken, NBA 2K9 was never available for download over Steam, you just had to register the game to your Steam account to launch the game (Steam was its DRM).

Yeah i've been reading mixed opinions so far but you have to keep in mind many of these people are extremely picky. I'm hoping a no dvd patch is out by Friday, I think it will be. Pretty sure Securom is embedded in the mlb2k9.exe and places files on your drive when run which is why I don't want to run it from the original .exe. Grid was the same way and I did the same thing, I waited for a no dvd patch and only ran it from that, no Securom on my system, I checked. There's different levels of Securom so nothing is guaranteed.

Anyway, i'm really looking forward to playing it, i'm just happy we have a new baseball game for the PC.

i wish they kept the steam activation DRM from nba 2k9 over this stupid physical disc check securom DRM. ugh i hate cd checks, but i'm already playing it. i'll be waiting for a cracked exe too.

I hear ya, I have NBA2k9 as well and although Steam is a better method IMO I don't really like that either. MLB2k9 has unlimited installations which tells me it probably doesn't install the securom service and all that garbage. It's just a disk check which runs from the mkb2k9.exe which also places some files on the drive from what I understand. To each his own, some people don't give a crap about Steam or Securom..etc..The company has to protect it's work but I wish they would find a different way. I personally despise Securom but I don't want to get too far off topic.

Hopefully i'll be firing up the game by this weekend or before.

Boy this game is hard to find in the wild. At least for me it was. Best Buy had 2 in store but weren't on the floor yet and who knows where the2 might be. Went to Walmart and they didn't have any out on the floor and they said "Well this one manager checks them in and and puts them out, if it isn't there then we don't have it" :disgust: Went to Gamestop and one was on the shelf, picked it up and went to pay. The associate told me that was the last of 2! Are you kidding me? Are they sending 2 per store? Thats insane IMO. Oh well, I got mine.

Just tried out the PC Demo- Three innings of the Phillies vs. Rays at Citizen's Bank Park. Looks great. Still trying to figure out all the controls with my XBox 360 controller. My game arrives on Thursday.

Have mine on the way as well. I've tried the demo but setting controls with the menu system (click = change control, no matter where I'm actually clicking... I can't get past the "Pitching" section) is near impossible, and I couldn't really figure out pitching to begin with. Guess I'll wait on the manual.

Is it worth the $20? From what the demo shows I would say no. The controller setup is atrocious...there's no way to change from "Batting" to anything else in the controller options. Pitiful.

IMHO it is worth the $20.00, seems like a small price to pay for a game. Considering the lack of sports games for those of us who play on PC, hopefully high sales will encourage more development.
It took me approx 10 mins to set up my Logitech Cordless Rumblepad or you could also use the XBox360 Universal controller, wired or wireless works with no remapping😉

"Control Setup" menu, use the "[" and "]" keys to select between the mapping
options for Batting, Pitching, and Fielding. Use the "," and "." keys to select the controller or the keyboard.

It seems they did the typical thing that game developers like to do with newer games: they made it more complicated which in turn makes it less fun.

I like MVP 2005/2007 because it's SIMPLE yet still challenging and very very fun. I don't need meaningless bubbles or want to have to twirl my joystick around to determine my pitch...i just want to choose a location, choose a pitch, and then throw it.

MLB 2k9 (from what I played in the demo) just wasn't fun.

Have it installed, but haven't gotten to playing the full version yet... From the reviews, it doesn't look so good, but I'll take what I can get :\. Maybe modders will be able to help.
