It seems like every year the same teams generally win. Yeah I know that alot of different teams have won the WS in the past 10 years, but still. It seems like the only teams that matter are the Yankees/Red Sox/Phillies/Cardinals/Cubs (lol)/Dodgers...etc.
What is the point of being a fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, KC Royals, Baltimore Orioles, Toronto Blue Jays, Cincy Reds, Nationals...etc. Why do any fans even go when their teams year in year out have zero chance to do anything? I don't understand how baseball can have this type of revenue/salary structure. They aren't looking towards the future.
NFL has already taken it over as the national past time (imo). More and more people are watching MMA as well. There are fewer and fewer fans being developed in most of the crappy baseball cities..so when they grow up they aren't going to care about baseball.
Plus, all the underperforming teams just give all their best players to the top teams mentioned above year in and year out...what is the point of even having a team? In the NFL for the most part, every team has a fighting chance every year to compete and perhaps make the playoffs. That is not the case in baseball.
Why not just cut half the teams out of baseball and make two divisions only with those top teams mentioned above...those are the only teams that generally have success anyway.
Had to rant a bit...tired of having losing baseball in my city for so many years.
Thoughts?
