I wouldn't stop watching -- that seems a bit dramatic. But it would really detract from the game for me. The DH takes away a huge part of the strategy of baseball. Strategy is at the very core of baseball.

Only way I'd support a Designated Hiiter rule was if it was offset by a similar "Designated Pitcher" rule. Basically if a non-pitcher occupied the DH slot, then every ninth batter faced (order number randomly selected) the person occupying the DH slot would need to pitch to that batter. Watching Bartolo Colon trying to hit has been one of the most entertaining things in MLB the last few years, now imagine the entertainment if Big Papi or Panda Sandoval needed to pitch to Trout.

I don't think the leagues are identical. It's a different type of strategy. I like that the leagues have those differences and that AL pitchers that haven't had to bat in years all of a sudden have to.

I do love the quirkiness of that and while it is entertaining, realize what is lost if the NL chooses to adopt this non-baseball rule and just outright ruin the game as a whole. I can tolerate the AL willfully diluting their game with such nonsense as long as they keep this crap in their own house. It would just be awful to see such a nonsense rule spread to the rest of the league.
