Holy smoke, I just flip back to Fox and now it is tied up. Extra inning? Chapman's pitches are all over the plate. No command at all.

So lay your bets gentlemen, which team pulls this out with it being 6-6 at the top of the 9th?

Cleveland. Cody is dealing right now. Well, depends on how many more innings he has. Already through 2, right? I think Cubs need to get Lackey and shit...maybe Arrieta warming up now next to their relievers, lol.

OK, I lied. Allen not dealing. and shit the rain.

What would have been wrong with the slide at 2nd?

I don't think they're allowed hard/takeout slides anymore -- they may be checking for that.

And holy shit, it's tied in the 9th with the ground crew ready to roll out the tarp.

He just has to clearly be sliding into the bag and not stray from it. It was a legal slide.

Yeah as Imp said, hard slide are no longer allowed:

no more feet in teh air (to take out knees)--not that was ever really allowed, iirc (except for Ty Cobb)
no more sliding low with legs away from base--to trip. think of a flagrant foul in basketball where you aren't playing for the ball.

As long as you are sliding towards the base, you should be good. It looked good to me, but it definitely looked dicey on the live play.
