I am so fucking tired of Oliver Perez and his inconsistant bullshit pitching. The Mets looked fooled so far by Cy Dickey and his knuckler so its going to be a long night for them.

I agree ... I think he should get his last start as a Met against the Yankees this weekend who he has a history of pitching well against & then be moved out as part of a deal to get sombody (ANYBODY!) who can hit on this team!

Tonight was just plain pathetic ... Castillo plays like he doesn't care, Delgado is 100% done & should be released & 5 of our starting lineup were better suited to AAA then MLB.

At least we saw a fired up Jerry "The Gangsta" Manuel and even Beltran was ultra angry. Never saw that kind of anger from him! wow!

Claudio Vargas was DFA'd and Carlos Muniz is up. I like Muniz and he should stay up. If you ask me LOLiver should have been sent down for Muniz. I don't think LOLiver will ever reach his potential as his mechanics and brain are both screwed up.

I am also sick of Castillol and his putrid, lazy play. During the game the guys in the booth said that Jerry "I'm gon' cut you" Manuel talked to Castillawl about playing part time as he hasn't been good and Castillol wasn't too pleased. Too freakin' bad. That play in the second inning was his to make and he looks dead out there. Four years of this crap.. thanks Omar!

What drives me nuts is that the Phillies have lost SIX games in a row and the Mets who quite frankly is a .500 team at best doesn't take advantage as they play last place teams. The Braves stink too.

...go Marlins! I kid ..I kid!

im actually not a fan of either team but im following it for fantasy baseball purposes and  at delgado in the first game of the doubleheader at yankee stadium. a salami, a 3-run jack and a 2-run double for 9 runs batted in! if he comes up to bat again in the top of the 9th and the bases are juiced, just intentionally walk him and cut your losses.

Yea, Delgado just raped the Yanks...and its just game one!! There is still a night game at 8pm if he wants some seconds. LOL

perhaps he'll sit or the yanks are going to be like roberto duran when he fought sugar ray when duran was in the corner saying "no más, no más!"

Wow that was some game! :Q

Lets hope they saved a few runs for Shea tonight plus for the games tomorrow & Sunday which I'll be attending.

I think the Mets used up their runs for the week in the first game. Figures they would get shut out by SIDNEY FREAKIN PONSON. Thats an embarrassment.

I think Pedro is finished as well. He looks so spent on the mound. Time for Johan to earn his moolah tomorrow.

No question Pedro is done as a starter ... I'd be more confident with Vargas called back up & in the rotation at this point & Pedro moving to long-relief.

We can however take some comfort in that Texas held on & beat Philly 8 to 7 so we actually picked up half a game in the standings.

Well looks like the bats are officially back in a coma ... Santana pitched well today but again zero run support, sloppy fielding & bone-head mistakes like Reyes gitting picked off 2ed base with 2 outs & Wright at the plate cost us any chance to win.

Replacing Willie was the right thing to do, but now its time to make some player-moves & bring in a couple guys who can hit plus won't get injured while standing in left field!

This weekend in Philly will tell a lot about wether the 2008 Mets have a shot at winning anything ... if we can at least pull off a split & not lose any more then a game in the standings after this wicked road-trip I'll take it.

This is where the rubber meets the road ... time for Santana to come up big for us!

LETS GO METS !!!!!!!!! 😀

Looks like theres some life in the old team yet ... I've never been happier to have been mistaken !!!

Meanwhile ... all you ATOT Mets fans need to vote for David Wright to be in the All-Star game ... can't let big-mouth Billy be the only Met in the lineup.

David Wright for NL All-Star

Mets win 10 - 9 with Billy Benitez almost blowing it..again. Unreal what this team does to me. I hate this team. I need Pepto Bismol now.

Holy mother of god that was stressful ... why the hell can't it EVER be easy ?!?

I'm so sick of Big-mouth Billy giving up multi-run leads in big games !!! :disgust:

Pepto isn't gonna cut it ... I need a defibrillator !!! 😛

Edit: However were now 2.5 games back & coming home to play SF & Colorado ... I have tix for Tues, Weds, Sat & Sundays ESPN game and this time I'm looking forward to going.

i was at the game today, a whole section of met fans (about 10-15 of them) got kicked out, one was a fucking idiot and tried to punch a philly cop in the face... you can just imagine what happened afterwards!

tonight's game was good though. you can thank adam eaton for your win

Nice to finally get an easy win against the Giants tonight with Pelfry pitching a 3-hit shut-out gem & the offense giving "The Freak" Tim Lincecum a pounding.

Combine it with a Philly loss to St Louis & we find ourselves 1.5 games off the lead in the NL East ... this is easily the best I've felt about the NY Mets since this time last season!

Vote David Wright for All-Star & Lets go Mets! 🙂

Another easy win tonight plus we finally scored some runs for Santana & got him the victory ... I could get used to this! 🙂

Unfortunately St Louis couldn't get the big hit in the top of the 9th so we didn't gain any more ground on Philly ... I guess you can't have everything.

Hopefully now Maine can come back from his left-arm cramp & out-pitch Barry Zero tomorrow for the sweep!

There is however some bad news in that Moises Alou had to come out of a rehab-game with a cramping hamstring & I'm not optomistic about seeing him before the All-Star break. (if at all)

I am so damn tired of this crap. Either retire or just release the man. His body is sending him a damn message..listen to it Moises! I think Omar must get an everyday right handed bat to play LF (or RF considering Church's issues) for the rest of the season (ie: Jason Bay, Xavier Nady..etc) and don't even think about Alou. Omar should have the mindset that he won't play a game for the rest of the season. Yea, he's owed a ton of money but what can Omar do? This is getting ridiculous!

Another solid Mets win over the Giants today with a decent performance by Maine & another great one from the bullpen.

Unfortunately more bad news regarding Moises Alou ... his hamstring is actually torn & will require season-ending surgery.

Honestly is anyone surprised by this? (I know I'm not)

Alou is finished for sure which means Omar can now without hesitation find that right handed bat that can play LF for the remainder of the season with Endy playing RF (or vice versa). Who he can get is beyond me but at least the ambiguity of the situation is over and Omar can get to work.

...oh..and good job sweeping the horrid Giants. The next four series are against the Rockies, Reds (at Cincy), Phils and Cardinals. I'm not convinced the Mets have "righted the ship" but if they do well in that stretch then I think we could have a great battle with the Phils for the remainder of the season.

8 in a row + a Phillies loss = NY mets 1/2 game out of first place ... will wonders never cease?

Ya gotta believe! 😛

Second sweep in a row, second shut-out in a row & Mike Pelfry pitching like an ace ... 96 mph wicked sinking fastball on his 119th pitch!

It was surreal feeling Shea shake as the crowd chanted Pel-fry Pel-fry Pel-fry in the 8th inning ... bring on the 2ed half! 🙂

Yep 9 in a row now, although have to admit against crappy teams. However I think it might be a good thing for the Mets to beat up on some teams for a change and take it into the 2nd half to knock out some better competition.
