enjoy first place because it wont last long 🙂

in the last 10 games ny is 3-7 and the braves are 8-2

as a braves fan the phillies are the team i am worried about

uh, the braves have played the Marlins and Nats in those 10 games, while the Mets have played the Phillies, Brewers and Cards.

the braves have played the nats and marlins 11 times so far this season for 9-2. the mets have played the nats and marlins 10 times this season for a record of 8-2.

braves will get better this season. if i were a mets fan, i'd be seriously worried about the braves.

im not saying the braves are bad, just i dont think you can compare 10 games at a time, because the last 10 games are harder for the mets.

I think its gonna be a good season between the mets, phillies and braves

alien42 was saying he isnt worried about the mets at all, even though they are in 1st place because the mets have done bad the last 10 games, even though they have played all good teams in that stretch

Jeremi Gonzalez stunk it up tonight but so has Randy Johnson. An all around hideous baseball game tonight and there is still time for more runs and bad pitching.

freakin MLB.TV claims the mets-yankees game is nationally televised on FOX...which is only true if the Mets are playing Michaelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo and Raphael while the yankees are pitching Shredder today

It's on Fox for me.

Wright and Beltran first inning RBI doubles!!!

i thought this wagner guy was supposed to be good

why was wagner even in here?Dirty only pitched 10 pitches in the 8th and we had a 4 run lead

Well I don't like to second-guess Willie unless I think he deserves it, but when you're paying a guy $10million to be your closer, and he didn't have a lot of work in the past few days, it makes sense to put him out there. Sure, keeping Dirty D would've been a good choice as well, but I wouldn't say it's the absolute must choice to do.

After today's meltdown by the Sandwoman (overpaid, overrated and has never won a big game in his life ) I had a bit of an epiphany. I became so incensed after the Sandwoman blew chunks that I started to have violent thoughts and wanted to bash someone's brain in. Thats just wrong and I decided to do away with the emotional attachment to the game of baseball and the Mets.

From now on if the Mets win..great..if they lose..so be it. Go get 'em tomorrow. I don't care anymore. No one should have an emotional attachment to a sporting event even if "fan" is short for "fanatic".

I'll just sit back and enjoy the games as a casual fan now. I'm sure some here will think I need medical attention but I don't. All I needed was to see the Sandwoman melt down for me to see the light.

^ wow, haven't I been telling you to act that way since middle of last year ? 😀

About today's game in particular.. it sucked a bit more because of the rivalry... so... SIGH. 🙁

Indeed. I will try my best to heed that advice and just sit back and enjoy the game of baseball.

No reason to lose remaining hair on my scalp because of the Sandwoman and that buffoon Willie.

Heh, like I said in an earlier post somewhere in this thread, I have a bad attachment to the Scott Kazmir deal that still seems to eat away at me moreso than it really should. I keep slowly trying to get myself to just accept that it was dumb, and realize that reality is that it has no bearing on my everyday life whatsoever.

The irony of course is that today's game did have an effect on my life. I must've gotten yelled at 5 times today by my fiancee, as I was supposed to help her make dinner, which I told her I'd do soon enough since "it's the top of the ninth, so the game should be over in about five minutes"... 😀

By the way. That deal is now a total disaster with Bartolome Fortunado getting released today. Yep, not only is Zambrano done as a met so is Fortunado. That means the Mets got NOTHING for Kazmir. Amazin'

lol

hahaha good luck with that sir.

The only thing I have seen fans be able to do is leave one team and slowely start becoming a fanatic of another team, usually in a different sport

That'll never happen. I'm a baseball only fan. I'll still root for the Mets as usual but I just won't go bananas like I used to.

Now on to tonights game. Tom Glavine vs Aaron Small. Sounds like a lopsided matchup and it favors the Mets of course but after yesterday anything can happen.

Eh..thats not right at all. It was a popup but Glavine didn't move at all (he was like a damn statue) and didn't direct traffic. The ball fell halfway between home and first and no one made an effort to catch it while Bernie was hustling all the way.

Glavine didn't do his job there and really seems lazy today. No agression at the mound tonight.

Wow. Scott Kazmir 11 Ks today. 7-2 now for Tampa.

What a horrible trade.

I mentioned it in a previous post... with Zambrano and Fortunado (the players the Mets got for Kazmir) both done for good the Mets now have NOTHING to show for the trade. ZIP!

Mets win tonight and take 2 out of 3 against the Yanks.

Wagner came in tonight for the save and I didn't know what to think. He threw over 30 pitches in yesterday's meltdown but he had all his velocity and control tonight. Go figure..

Wags really needed that save and with no game tomorrow he can relax and enjoy this small redemption.

Next comes the Phillies.
