Beltran has done nothing this season yet to warrant all-star status.
At this point, Cliff Floyd is having a much better season offensively.

how on earth can you be torn between Jeter Renteria and Tejada? There is absolutely no comparison, value wise. Jeter is Mr. Yankee and all, and he puts up great numbers year after year, but he's nowhere near the force that Tejada is.

Both good points.

However Manny Ramirez tends to do a lot of showing off when hes in the outfield. I seem to remember in the World Series when he decided to slide when get could have gotten there just fine, and dug a spike into the ground and fell missing the pitch.

I do agree about the other outfielder though. Beltran has been kind of silent, still good with enormous potential but nothing wow.

Ill have to change that outfield.

Its a bit too early for All Star votes. The game is over 2 months away..who knows what'll happen in the coming months. I do agree about Floyd though..he is just tearing it up!

Renteria is a fantastic player. Take a look at some of the plays he made. Tejada is more of a power hitter than either of them. And Jeter is the best of both worlds with a higher batting average.

there's no doubt Renteria is one of the top shortstops. But Tejada, hands down, is the most feared shortstop in the game now that Arod is at third. He took that throne last year and has done nothing to cast any doubt so far this year

im always interested to see who the managers pick for the pitchers. i hope peavy gets a crack and willis is the starting pitcher. in fact, peavy is probably the only padre that has a chance of making it.

As for SS, i picked Tejada but i think i am slightly biased towards renteria simply because of the stupid fact that the Cardinals are my favorite team and he did an awesome job for them last year and is doing an awesome job for Boston.

Jeez didn't think about pitchers.

I would have to think a little for starting pitchers and relief but for closing pitchers:

AL
Mariano Rivera (Not a sure fire bet like last year, started out kind of slow this year)

NL
Jason Isringhausen (Slightly hesitant right simply because of his injury)

Are you one of those voters that goes with players he likes, and not players having all-star seasons?

Your picks reek of bias.

for once I have to agree with Joe Morgan and say that Miguel Tejada is the best player in the game.

[Sarcasm]Yeah.... sure[/sarcasm]

Im was just saying about the SS's, the reason i had Renteria with Tejada was simply because i have that slight bias. In the end though i picked Tejada. Any more flamewars you going to try to start?

konerko? the guy is hitting around .210 as of right now..
based on stats as of today i would take: david ortiz, mike sweeney, and maybe even richie sexson before konerko..
gotta take Brian Roberts at 2B for the AL.. man is just dominating the game..
Tejada at SS for AL...
ARod at 3B...
for AL outfield i would take: manny ramirez, vladimir guerrero, and garrett anderson..

NL:
1B: Pujols is my favorite player but as of now you gotta look at Derek Lee.. nobody comes close to the stats he has for 1st base.. he leads in avg, rbis, hrs, sb, obp, and slugging...
2B: Kent
SS: Barmes from Colorado for right now...
3B: chipper is a good pick but id look at troy glaus too..
OF: Miguel Cabrera, Cliff Floyd, and Beltran..

Derek Lee would be my second choice. However i dont think his current stats will be long lasting. I think he is just having a breakout week (opening season).

Sexson should be in over Konerko.

He has the advantage in AVG, Runs, Doubles, RBI, tied in Home Runs and a 100 point advantage in the all important OPS(Obp pct. + Slg. pct).
