Mixing Unbuffered and Registered DIMMs

According to the manual, this mobo:

Supports four DIMMs of unbuffered DDR SDRAM for a maximum of 3 GB....
Supports four DIMMs of registered DDR SDRAM for a maximum of 3.5 GB....

So what happens if I have 3 sticks of 256 MB unbuffered and I add a fourth stick of 512 MB registered?

I dont have this board.. but typically you can't mix the two.. it'll beep and say no.. but they could have design around that..
 
Well this sucked.. i just put up my 512 pc133 reg on ebay last night.. if no one bids for them, ill give it to you for free..
