mixing RAM

I'm looking to add some more memory to my current setup in order to get a few more months out of it until I upgrade (hopefully later this year). I currently have (1) 512mb stick of Corsair XMS PC3200, and want to get up to 1-1.5gb. Money is an issue so I was looking at their Value series RAM. Would it be okay to put the value series in with my current XMS stick? I think they would only support the speed/timings of the slowest, but as long as the value will do their advertised speeds, it would match the XMS I have as it is not overclocked. I originally had (2) 512mb sticks but one died, and I can't seem to find it now for an RMA. What do you all suggest?

Your assumptions are correct. It will go as fast as your slowest stick. The value memory will work just fine.

I agree. I havn't mixed RAM a lot but I've never had a problem in doing so. And you're right, the slowest stick sets the beat.
