Mixing RAM types?

I'm running an AthlonXP 2100+ with a 256MB stick of PC2700 RAM. Would I be able to add a stick of PC2100 RAM to that?

The RAM i currently have is generic, would Crucial RAM work along side the generic RAM?

So, would this config work:

1x256MB Generic PC2700
1x256MB Crucial PC2100

and would this one work:

1x256MB Generic PC2700
1x256MC Crucial PC2700

Thanks in advance!

Yes, but the price difference between PC2100 & PC2700 is little to none.
