I swear that I made a post about this, but it vanished? I dunno.

Anyways, after buying fancy expensive workout supps I started recognizing what ingredients I like. So now before going to the gym I mix 2 scoops of Cyto Max with 4g of beta alanine, and 2g of citruline malate to drink during the workout. I'll take a 200mg caffeine pill as well usually beforehand.

Anyone else experiment with this?

I mix equal parts dextrose and protein powder. I have one before/during my training session and one with 5g of creatine after.

Same here, except I only have one after. I use 2 scoops of whey, 2 scoops of dextrose, and 5g of creatine.

You don't take creatine prior to workout? I thought pre-workout was the best time to take it.

Also, do you mix your protein and creatine together? I used to take them each separately, and that is a real pain, I'd rather just get it all done at once, but I wasn't sure this is a good idea.

Taking them together is fine. Not sure on the timing of creatine. I do usually have a Cyto Gainer shake Pre-workout as well so I guess I get mine pre.

I make a post workout smoothie. Whey protein, 1 banana, 1 peach, milk. Yum.

I've been thinking about adding something pre-workout, something to generate energy, but I don't know what to choose. I don't really want to get into the whole caffeine thing since I don't even drink coffee. Not sure if I want to touch creatine either.

By the way, what is the point of taking creatine after the workout? Isn't it used to extend the length of time you can workout?

I drink 2 sccops whey pre workout and then have a 32oz gatorade with creatine during. Post workout I do another 2 scoops of whey with creatine again, followed by a snack.

Yup after you become experienced on what works for you you can mix your own.

I cap my own caffeine + l-carnitine combination with some other goodies.

customcapsule makes it easy, but I prefer to buy the raws and mix and measure and cap em myself.

Creatine post workout (when taken with a post workout drink/supplement) seems the best idea to me. Glycogen stores are lowered (almost said depleted, but thats not true) after a workout. If you consume some form of quickly absorbed (some form of whey, isolate, concentrate, etc. Hydrolysate is the fastest. Or BCAAs) amino acids, fast acting carb (dex, malto, etc) and creatine they're all going to be directed towards refueling the muscles. If you're making your own mix, I'd also probably add just a bit of salt, sodium or potassium, to aid with the uptake of fluid and nutrients.

Pre-workout I take 2 scoops of ON whey protein. Post-workout I take 1 serving (2 scoops in this flavor) of Biotest Surge. Its basically D-glucose, whey hydrolysate, maltodextrin with Na, K, P, Mg added.
