Mixing memory

Quick question.....I have a Crucial 512mb stick of PC3200 memory right now and I want to add another 512mb stick. I found a good deal on a Kingston 512mb PC3200 stick of memory. Are there any problems with micing brands like that?

nope. I have a stick of corsair and kingston running dual channel right now. never had a problem.

You could possibly argue that your computer will load .0005 seconds faster if you buy one of those ridiculously expensive matched pairs.

Probably not even but those kits do provide a manufacturer's guarantee that the paired sticks will function in dual-channel. Realistically? I've never seen sticks of same speed/capacity that didn't work in DC. A friend of mine bought two 'no-name' 512MB sticks two months apart, and they still worked in DC mode on an nForce 2 mobo.

lol yeah when i was building my system i just bought two identical 512 sticks from Crucial and they work perfectly. They were much cheaper than the "tested and certified" pairs that were being sold all over the place.

I love Crucial though... their warranty and rma service is really great. And this is pretty important to me considering that i live in the Caribbean and not in the US.

It's really not that importand unless the Mobo has built in Graphics card*...without it then a 4-5% Max differential performance boost will be seen by synthetic benches but not noticable in Real Time/Life *

Edit*=Better put this down before someone corects me on a Socket 939 setup...I am referring to Socket A which the Poster seems to be using
