Mixing Logitech and Microsoft Bluetooth Devices

Hello All,

I have a Logitech DiNovo media desktop set (not the newer laser set). I was looking at the Microsoft 8000 Bluetooth mouse and was curious if I could use the bluetooth dongle to connect the diNovo keyboard and number pad and have it recognized correctly by Vista and Setpoint (if I decide to install it). Currently, the media keys work correctly, but I hate how Logitech can't find a way to get the bluetooth base to work in Vista to the point that I can connect other devices like my phone to my PC via bluetooth.

I really want to take a look at the Wireless Desktop 8000 that's coming out in September since both the mouse and keyboard are rechargeable, but I'm scared the price is going to be astronomical (mouse alone retails for ~$90 at Newegg). That and the keyboard doesn't come with a numerical keypad like the DiNovo sets do.

Any help/experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Trevor

Now ya got me interested. I'm seeing the list price for the 8000 set estimated at 250-300.

Seruiously! That's definitely out of my price range. If only Logitech would improve the bluetooth base station for this diNovo set, I would be able to use the full bluetooth features within Vista.

 Here's to hoping it can be had online closer to the diNovo media desktop laser price, or maybe the diNovo edge keyboard (though that's a rechargeable bluetooth keyboard with an MSRP of $199, so $250-300 w/ mouse sounds like a valid estimate 🙁).
