Okay, so I have a 512 mb kvr400/512cr of memory in my computer. I think it is discontinued now because I can't find it anywhere, so I am getting a stick of KVR400X64C3A/512. Will they work together? Will it work at all? Will I get errors or crashes of any kind? I have the specs for the kvr400/512cr but I do not know the actualy specs of the kvr400x64c3a/512, I have googled up the specs but some sites give me different results. Anyways I copied this out of everest, I am a n00b I do not know what it means:

Yeah, okay. But what if they are different speeds or something? My old computer had a 2 different speeds of ram and it was kind of screwy. My friend mixed two 256 mb sticks of ram and he kept getting errors when installing programs. Will I get these problems?

More importantly, what is your mobo? Are you going to try and run these in dual channel? Why not just buy a 2x512MB matched pair like the Corsair Value ram for $65.49 shipped (hot deals thread)?

Call Kingston and they will tell you exactly what you need and what will and will not work. They are the best source for this info.

Good luck.
