Mixing different CAS RAM?

I've never tried mixing different CAS Ram before, but would it be possible to run each of my 128MB sticks at a different CAS setting? My Hyundai can only handle CAS3 at 133, but my Infineon does CAS2 easily. It seems a shame that I would have to slow down my Infineon to CAS2 if I want 256MB of total system RAM (which I need).

You're right, you can't run them with latencies that are asyncronous - but if you say you actually need that much memory, then having the more memory would outweight the fact that the latency is a little higher. CAS3 does reduce performance, I think around 5% on average as compared to CAS2, but if you actually need that much, its still a heck of a lot better than using virtual memory.

I also agree with B.K. and just wanted to add the majority of M.B.'s read the SPD from the first ram slot, putting in your fastest ram stick in the first slot and the slower in the second can cause all kinds of errors and freezes, lockups ect. at ANY time in the future, as the bios sets a faster timing and the slower stick will eventually error.
The moral of the story.... to ensure stability is to always put your slowest stick in the first slot if you set your bios to detect by SPD. If you put your fastest first, and you don't have erratic operation, then your slowest stick can handle the O.C. fine.

Edit:
I did hear there are a few M.B.'s that can set individual timings according to slot but haven't confirmed it..
