Hello,

This guy at a computer store where I bought my Mobo from said that you cannot mix diffrent brand name rams together in the same mobo.

For example if you buy one stick Micron 2700 DDR ram and one Kingston 2700 DDR ram stick. You cannot place both sticks of ram in the same motherboard because it causes some sort of compatability problem.

I would like to know if this is true or not.

Thanks in advance.

"...careful not to step in the bullsh!t."

This sounds totally obsurd; that guy doesn't know what he's talking about. i've always run a mixture of ram and am currently running one stick of crucial DDR and one stick of generic DDR from office depot with absolutely no problems whatsoever.

I have never heard of such a problem, and I'm sure others will agree that this guy is full of it.

Mix away!

Hi,

Thanks for the input Tdawg.

I suspected that the guy was lying and was pretty certain but I had to confirm it by asking other people here at Anandtech.

Anyways thanks ;).
