Mixing and Matching RAM

Hi, I have 512 megs of crucial ram (pc 2700) in my pc. Would it matter if I mix and match different brands, i.e. pny or a generic brand with my crucial ram? 😕
 
i dont believe so, but if your o/cing it will b/c some wont go as high as others, and i think very few times, there is an incompatibility between the rams, for safety, i would go with crucial again
 
It is very often possible to do so, but I would recommend against it highly. It can easily cause instabilities in a system. There is no way to find out but to try it. I wouldn't take my chances.
