Mittens as an attack dog? Um, yea, the gop is going to have to find a dog with actual teeth. Piss poor choice, the only thing that's going to take down drumpf is drumpf

I listened to a bit of the speech and I have to say I found myself agreeing with him. I was also reminded what a great public speaker Mitt Romney is and unlike a Trump speech, he was VERY specific in his points.

Honestly, I can't see this helping Trump at all. Then again, I can't believe anyone supports Trump to begin with...😵

Whispering sweet nothings in the base's ear while bending them over for the establishment salami is exactly what put Trump where he is now. This was a dumb move and only strengthens Trump's protest appeal. If (and big if) Trump can keep some sort of composure over this he comes out the winner here.

Where is the complete speech?

IMO if Trump is as smart as he seems to be at trolling people his response will be this and only this:

"Mitt, thanks for your attention, but when I'm president we all need to work together. Let's stop burning bridges, we've had too much of that. We can't afford to keep doing it."

It would be disingenuous, which is something Trump is accustomed to, unexpected (also he's good at that), and be something mitt would have absolutely no response to. Basically saying the points are not even worthy of consideration but the infighting is a problem--and that's something I'm hearing is indeed a problem. Scorched earth among republicans may leave too many open wounds to coalesce come November.

It's more likely trump will just mock the fact romney blew it four years ago and that he's a chocker 😉

Based on his twitter feed he reminded Romney that he was a loser who begged for his support 2012.

Listened to some of Mitts speech. He complained about Trump playing footsy with the KKK/Duke endorsement. Funny the Republican to this date has always played that game with the likes of the Klan and other right wing hate groups. Anyone forget they just put in a guy to gave a speech to Davis Duke's group, Steve Scalise. Stevie only renounced the Klan because he wanted the job.

The only reason Republican leaders are all of a sudden being firmly against the Klan is because it hurts Trump. It's not the principle its self interest.

That's why yesterday I said that today Romney would endorse Trump. Not deliberately, but by toeing the line.

So far nothing from Trump post-Romney speech. It is entirely possible he just ignores it, which would be awesome as well and completely deflating to Romney.

Honestly I think you blew that prediction. Romney came off like a prickly little twat in his speech today IMO. But yeah, Trump just has to ignore it and he wins. Which you would think going into this they'd all know is not the position you're looking to put the person you're attacking in.

And that was a far different Romney than the one gushing over Trump after his endorsement in 2012:

"Not as successful as that guy." LOfuckingL

I was sure this wouldn't work. But Romney may just need to speak to the independent, middle of the road Trump supporters. I wouldn't have voted for ROmney, but at one time he was a Mass. Republican or a centrist. Maybe his voice will tip the scales for those less fervent Trump supporters.

Romney advocates tactical voting, keeps Trump from getting his 50% of delegates, then launches a floor fight at the convention and takes the nomination.

Im sure trotting out a 2 time loser that saught Trumps endorsement in 2012 will fix the Trump issue for the GOP establishment

This drumpf thing the liberals are pushing is hilarious. They actually think people care about this. Pathetic, very low energy.

If not Romney, then who else could deliver an anti-Trump speech?

Seriously, are there ANY republicans that are respected by a majority of the party? It seems they've devolved into a formless mass of "Not-the-Democrats"

...maybe O'Reilly?

Did he really seek out Trump's endorsement? If true it's convenient how quickly allegiances change. I wonder if he or anyone has figured out yet that the more they all rail against Trump the more they make him stand out as the guy outside of the controlled, manipulated system.

Of course they haven't. Remember when they called Obama the most liberal candidate ever, completely oblivious to the fact that America as a whole is significantly more left wing than either of the political parties? Name almost any policy, and most Americans think the government is too far to the right. I would have difficulty finding 1 person who thinks smoking marijuana should be a criminal offense.
-believing taxes on the rich are too low
-believing healthcare should be single payer like that in Canada or Britain
-believing we should stop foreign wars of aggression
this list goes on and on

Cenk Uygur - America is liberal

I would never give Chainsaw Romney my vote. A guy involved in LBOs that buy and liquidate companies to make money off assets and other intangibles. Destroying jobs to fill up the coffers with what I call blood money.

Funny how this is what the GOP props up as a "Job creator" and what they want the public to vote for.

How much do they want to Milk this country for? between the job destroying LBOs in the 80s and Clintons Job destroying free trade agreements late 90s, there will be nothing left.
