Mitsubishi's new supercar eater

The key to the MR FQ-400?s performance lies in both engine and chassis, says Mitsu. Like every car in the Evolution VIII MR (Mitsubishi Racing) range, the FQ-400 gains Mitsubishi?s electronically-controlled four-wheel drive system (4WD) and a Bilstein suspension system honed at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack. Its new braking system on the FQ-400 also ensures, says Mitsu, that it has the ?stop? to match its ?go?.

Thats pretty dam good and different imo. Not just a 'yeah we'll bolt this on and such'. it is tested and you pay for that. How much testing WHO KNOW?!

Also there is only 100 of them made. You join an 'exclusive' club and hence the high price.

It looks pretty good to me.

It is not a 'supercar' but it is a fast car and probably handles amazingly. 4 doors also.

It's an official Mitsubishi Motors UK product so the FQ-400 has undergone reliability testing and is supplied with a three years/36,000 mile manufacturer?s warranty. The car can be ordered now from approved Mitsubishi Ralliart dealers.

Pretty dam good imo. Distances are shorter (towns to town etc) in England so you clock up less miles in general.

I'd take the new Bmw M5 over that though even if it was slower 😛. Just a bit under 2seconds isn't going to kill me 😛

But it looks like a dam good car 😀. Was watching a bunch of rally stuff on tv. Looks sweet. Saw a Capri rallying, Impreza of course and a 206 😀

so I guess you depise this as well. 🙂

I was just about to point out that they seemed to be going for the M3/M5 combination of "practical 4-door" with "lots of power and good handling". That said, I'd take the M3/M5 (the old one, that is...don't like the new one as much)

I'm with you (except I'd rather have the new v10 m5.) The Evo could be better at absolutely everything than a Ferrari 360, a Porsche Carrera GT or a BMW M5.... but that doesn't make it a better car. It's still a Mitsubishi, and it's still from the wrong continent.

:roll:

Agreed. Writing off the car because of its brand or continent of origin is mind-numbingly ignorant.

You're the epitome of euro snobs in this forum 😛

I don't have a problem with that... except you freakin drive an acura... 😕 you really should sell it because you keep whining about it but you keep driving it.

$56,000??? For an ugly 2F2F hopped up Evo? Sorry, I'd take a C6 Vette over that thing anyday. Not only does it look 10x better than that car which looks like a ricer's dream, GM will be here in the next 5 years...Mitsu may end up going belly up.

Its ugly and you can get better looking cars for lesser than that.
Dont need no soapbox with a wing running around when you can get a real musclecar.

What is 'not-muscle' about 400+Hp and a 3.5 second sprint time? :Q

It isnt using a V8..

Motor Configuration != Muscle

HP=HP & Torque = Torque

How it's made means sh1t.

Don't preach to me, I was trying to give his reason (what I assume he was thinking).

$86K? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha 😀
Who is gonna pay $86K for this over 911 or M5? Noone, because anyone dumb enough to do so is riding around in a short bus.

No one, because it's not coming here. It's aimed for the people who are fans of WRC, which this country isn't.

if mitsubishi doesnt go out of business in the next 3 years, ill be surprised. Arent they at the bottom of the list right now behind daewoo or something in america? 😀

it looks too f&f to be such an expensive car... although you have to hand it to mitsu. that is a monster car. and pushing 400hp out of 2L is no small feat. american cars need huge v8s to make up for their poor engineers...

Neon 4 cylinder has 5oo hp. Either way, those little buggers are marvels of engineering as you said.

Mitsubishi hasn't been doing very well in the WRC lately 😛. But yes, the WRC is very popular over there and one reason cars like these are popular over there. People in the UK would import grey market cars because they couldn't get them domestically.

Oh yea, GOOOO SUBARU!
