hmm. I bet it is projection LCD. This would be a ridiculously good price if it wasn't.

Looks to be Mitsu's WD-52531 which is a 3 LCD rear projection TV that normally sells for $1200, but I could be wrong.

No way this isn't projection. And at any rate, if it's not projection, I'm sure every Fry's is already sold out.

It is not a bad deal, but for a little more money I think you could find a much better 1080p DLP from either Samsung or Mitsubishi. Maybe even JVC

It's an LCD (liquid crystal), NOT a DLP (digital laser).

It IS rear projection and there are both LCD and DLP rear-projection units, however there are not plat-panel DLP's yet

You are correct, it is an LCD screen not a DLP. But still you can pay a little more and get a better TV.

p.s. DLP is Digital LIGHT Processing, not Laser
