Another source....
I can't see a magazine that he basically put on the map years ago reporting false stuff about him. However, Howard Stern's site now says "allegedly passed away." I wish there would just be a press release already so I can stop wondering.

glad to see someone else spending his "productive" hours at work investigating this too. ;)

the baltimore improv hasn't heard anything about his supposed death...
I love Mitch's comedy, so work takes a back seat today. ;)

Shecky said that they are going to release a statement at 2:00 EST. Is that not accurate?

Yeah, the site's up and it doesn't say anything about it. But it's probably very low-budget, so I can imagine it not being updated in a very timely manner. It's the rest of the news organizations of the world that I can't believe haven't reported on this yet.

Think he would warrant an AP News item?

NO! I WON'T BELIEVE IT!

Man, he was my second-favorite comedian (behind the great Robert Schimmel), and I'm so sad to see him go if this is true. I can't stop trying to verify this.

He certainly should. He has done enough to warrant an AP story, I'd think.

Don't you think people would be aware if he had a heroin problem? I can't stand not knowing for sure about this whole thing. Somebody post something reputable STAT.

Looks like that was really Brian Posehn that posted. I think that's good enough for me. There's nothing even remotely funny about this, which also tends to make me believe it.

Damn, that sucks. What a loss.

The thing is, it's not really a funny story as a prank. Sadly I lean toward believing it's true.
