Mitch Hedberg dead?

On the front page of howardstern.com it says the following:

Mitch Hedberg - Farewell to a Friend
The Howard Stern Show is saddened to learn that legendary comedian Mitch Hedberg has passed away. Mitch was just on the show two weeks ago...

Did they screw up and posted this on the wrong day? April 1st isn't till tommorow....
I can't seem to find this in the news.

Just did a search and there is nothing. Maybe some dumba$$ thought today was April 1st instead of March 31st and put it up by accident.

They just mentioned him dying on the show, then Artie chimes in and says "I'm doing a tribute to Mitch this weekend, I'll be dying in a hotel room"

i have tickets to see him in baltimore for a 5th time. he was supposed to be on 98Rock's morning show this morning, but didn't show. apparently the DJ's called his cell and a woman picked up crying...

hoping for an early april fools joke gone wrong

I'm calling shens. Mithchedberg.net was updated today, and nothing there except a small link to the stern site...I think it's a promo gag

weird... it does simply say "Mitch on Howard Stern!"

doesn't sound like an official statement about his death

this better be a bad joke. he was a great comic and a nice guy. got to see his show and talk to him afterwards for a few seconds. really humble and just as funny in person.

I don't believe this yet at all. It would be somewhere else other than Stern's show and some stupid message board. It's possible, but I doubt it.

Same here. I got his autograph, and he was really nice. I LOVE his CDs, and I wish I could get another chance to see him in person. The only time I've ever seen him was here in KC. The picture from then is on the front page of his website (Uptown Theater in Kansas City, MO (Feb. 5, 2005)).

Yeah, someone other than the Howard Stern show would know. This is all complete BS at this point in time.

Heard about it on the radio this morning.. said he died of a heroin overdose, but I didn't hear much more. I had to get out of the car.
