It's not that surprising, all of that stuff is laid out perfectly in this thread and you still have people like HomerJs defending Brown.

Exactly when did I defend Brown.

Oh that's right because I was more skeptical of law enforcement then you that is an automatic defense of Brown??

Actually the prosecutor said both happened. His hands went up in surrender position and he lowered then and charged Wilson

The latter makes the former action completely irrelevant. Brown could jump up and down and spin on his head and that would not matter. What does is that he went after Wilson.

Jeffrey Toobin on CNN called the first part of the prosecutor's statement "whining" about the media and said it was an embarrassment.
I really hope some people in powerful positions in media outlets really listened to the statement and take to heart how damaging it is for them to broadcast narratives put together without any responsible cross-checking.

Of course it was whining to him....he called them on their bullshit and completely discredited all the asshat CNN mega-plex multi-room pre-briefing and early conclusion.

CNN needs to change their now

Why, it is entertaining. That is what Entertainment organizations do.

I didn't take it as whining. The media is all too quick to rush to judgement without all the facts. They get it wrong just as much as they get it right. The media is the one who should be embarrassed by this.

I have to admit that I laughed a little bit when Obama said we were a nation built on the rule of law.

Why does he feel obligated to speak about this, exactly?

Ya think? On day one, witnesses were saying he was shot in the back. That lasted until the autopsy reports came out.

There were suspicions prior, but yeah the autopsy shut down a lot of the witnesses. A lot of people in that community hate police so were piling on whatever they could to get Wilson, even if they knew it to be untrue.
Yeah, I'd always heard that but I never understood to what degree until I listened to this press conference.
Even when people aren't lying they are hilariously bad, way worse than anybody would think. Studies have been conducted that constantly and objectively show how bad people are at remembering things that just happened. If you ever witness a crime you need to find a piece of paper and immediately write down everything you know because what you remember immediately after won't be the same as an hour later or a month later. Your memory and imagination blur until a traumatic event is half truth and half wild creativity.

No chance of it. Journalistic integrity is on life support in this country on the mainstream stuff. You can still get quality reporting, but it won't be on CNN, Fox, or all the high viewer sources.

as obama is speaking, they aer shooting and trying to flip over police cars.

#merica

Wow, this is fucking pathetic. He is limping his way through this speech and chaos is occurring before him. Wow.

He has no. fucking. clue.

Yeah, nevermind this "child" was huge, assaulted somebody before he met wilson, assaulted wilson, tried to disarm him, was shot, ran away, and then RAN TOWARDS Wilson. For fucks sake you fucking morons.

Baffle with bullshit.

Again it's possible that the cop just executed the kid while he had his hands up for disrespecting him. It's also possible I'll win the powerball tomorrow.

I just don't understand how people could objectively lean towards the former given all the info; extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

lol, splitscreen was hilarious. "break windows..." as they were trying to flip a police car. idiots

Obama talking about now is not the time for violence while the split screen shows policing engaging in violence.

POlice engaging in violence? They were dispersing a fucking riot! Tried to flip a cop car, setting fires, thorwing rocks and bottles..

Now they RESPOND w/ less-lethal violence obviously

Yes they were engaging in violence. What do you call shooting tear gas into a crowd and using armored vehicles?
