Mission Impossible 3 plot confusions...

1. What exactly is the rabbit's foot? Was that the nuclear canister?

2. Wasn't Morpheus dude 'in' on the whole scheme with the villain? I was surprised the movie showed him like nothing happened in the ending....?

3. What does the nuclear canister do? Why would anyone pay $370 MILLION USD for that small nuke?

4. How did Tom retreive the canister? The movie didn't show how he got it at all. That made the movie feel bit too distant from realism. (At least the rest of the movie made Reasonable effort to be somewhat realistic, unlike MI2)

5. Also where is that poverty place filimed in Shanghai? The one with a canal and cement bridges... I thought that place was BEAUTIFUL.

Thank you.

I gotta agree with you on Q1, 2, and 3.

I didn't care much about Q4, and I don't think many other people do either

1. All we know is it was the canister with a biohazard sign on it.
4. While Ethan was unconscious the supervisor guy showed up with a brief case, Ethan's wife shot him three times, he dropped the briefcase, and the canister rolled out. After his wife pounds on his chest he sits up a finds the canister sitting a few feet away.

1. Rabbit's Foot = The Canister

2. Hunt's supervisor's the villain.

3. It's a dirty bomb.

He's asking about the scene where Tom jumped outta the high riser. The movie did not show how he obtained the canister inside the building.

1. It wasn't a nuke, it was a biohazard sign. I'm guessing some kind of highly infectious bioweapon
2. Morpheus wasn't in on it, it was his handler
3. See 1
4. I think showing him doing everything would have make the movie too long

5. Did you even watch the movie?

Rabbit's foot is not the canister. Remember the dude told Ethan, "It's more complicated than that." Apparently the Rabbit's foot is the KEY to work the canister properly...

Correct me if I'm wrong.

2. When agent Farrell (the blond that died) sent Ethan the microdrive with a video, it said the call made to the villain was traced back to Morpheus' dude's phone

It's whats inside. That's the rabbit's foot. They just couldn't open the canister because apparently that would simple release the weapon itself.

They explained that in the end as the handler setting up morpheus.

Sigh... it's a setup by Musgrave to make it look like Brassel's the villain.

The canister IS the rabbit's foot. The scene where they killed Hunt's fake wife was used to verified that the canister Hunter handed over is indeed real and not a fake.

Who had the canister after Cruise lost it in the bridge/copter/missile scene? Didn't the villain take it? From whom did the villain ask Tom to retrieve the canister?

Am I going insane? Didn't Cruise have it in the cargo plane with Damien? What was in Damien's briefcase then?

And here I thought the movie was decently well tied up...glossed over some areas, but they weren't too important...I was actually much happier with the movie than I had expected to be. well, maybe not much, but still.

That was information about where the rabbit's foot is

Then they skipped one of the most important part of the movie... Who has the rabbit's foot (why Shanghai) and how did Cruise single-handedly fetch the weapon all by himself...

LOL, weak plot.

I thought this was clear. The rabbit's foot is a bio weapon that was developed by a chinese contractor. Hoffman's character was going to buy it ( im assuming ) but he figured he coudl get Hunt to steal it for him since he had the gf.
