I have 2 512mb sticks of ddr266 ram but the total memory only shows up as 576mb..

They are working at dual channel fsb, i dont know why one stick is only showing 64mb.
These ram were running perfect on another machine, and ive tried them seperately and they are 512. Its only when i put them together that i lose the ram.
Ive tried seating them in different dimm slots, same thing happens. I was running another set of dual ram on the motherboard just yesterday and there wasnt this problem..

512mb pc2100
abit nf7-s
2500xp barton

are there any bios settings that are affecting this? im running 166x11 right now, 5:4 ram

When you booted up did it show 1gig ram? I had a ram problem on my laptop today, had the beeping when I booted. I looked at the ram and it must of got jiggled out of place, I removed them and put them back in. Booted up perfectly. Did you try taking out that ram and trying it on that other motherboard you mentioned? If it doesn't read it, ram could be bad.

reports 576mb at bootup instead of the 1024mb
it boots into windows as normal and its still at 576

Ive tried it on the other motherboard and its working normal with 1gb dual channel ;/
