I just installed win2k on my primary C: drive, I have a 20 gig that is split into 2 10 gig partitions. When I view the disks through fdisk eveything appears as it should, but when win2k loads it loads the second 2 partitions as one drive and asks if I want to format the drive. It has already been formatted and win2k shows nothing of the other partition.
When I first installed win2k the second drive was not connected at all. could this have something to do with win2k recognizing both the partitions as one?????? Should I just reinstall win2k again and hope that it recognizes the correct settings for the drives??????

these are the drives as win2k sees them
c: HD drive
d: cdrom
e: cdrom
f: second HD drive (Maxtor)

fdisk shows them as
c: primary (IBM 12.5 gig)
d: primary on second drive (maxtor 10gig)
e: secondary on second drive (maxtor 10gig)

I need to save the information on the maxtor BADLY, any help is appreciated.

If the second HD is on an ATA66/100 controller, put it on IDE33 and see if that solves the problem.
