When attempting to download some upgrades, patches and Open some applications,I find i cant because i have missing dll`s.I dont know were to find them on my C.D.that came with the computer labled 98 S.E.
Athlon 500
128 sdram
Asus K7M slot A motherboard

start>run>type in SFC>hit okay, then let windows system file checker (SFC) do the rest. But before you do that.................

Were these patches for the Motherboard, the AGP patch, IRQ router patch, stuff like that???? or for other proggies??????

If you write down all the errors before hand, you can instruct this proggie to look for the specific DLL's one at a time, whatever. This will work for windoze only, not the other applications/proggies you add.

What upgrades, what patches, what applications???? What .dll's and in what programs??? When you ask a question you got to be a bit more specific so you can get proper help.

Good Luck

System File checker...blurb from Smart Computing Mag

Extracting A System File.

Don?t let the name scare you; System File Checker makes extraction painless. Select the extraction option in the main menu and type the name of the file you wish to extract, not worrying about its location. Then, click Start.

Next to ?Restore From,? type in or browse for the file?s location, which is probably in the Win98 folder of your installation CD-ROM. Then, next to ?Save File In,? enter the location for the file being extracted (for dll files, this is usually c:\windows\system) and click OK. System File Checker looks for the file, saves it as you requested, and then tells you that ?the file has been successfully extracted.?

if it's dll's for your programs, then u'll have to reinstall the program...dll's for drivers, likewise,...system file checker replaces windows's files
