Missing calls (phone doesn't ring)

Does anyone with AT&T ever get missed calls when you know you had your phone with you and on? It happens to me once in a while and is absolutely ridiculous. I would question the phone (using an iphone now) but it also happened with my previous phone on AT&T service.

Normally I shrug it off but it just happened with a very important call I was expecting and I didn't notice the missed call until nearly an hour after. I had the phone with me all morning. I really don't ever remember this happening on Sprint or during the short time I was with Verizon (though I did live in a different city at that time).
 
I have verizon and this happens to me maybe every 20 or so calls. No ring but then I get a missed call or voicemail indicator.
